Job Description
CSMART is currently looking for a Finance Manager for 40 hours per week to support the Business & Quality department.
Reporting to the Director Business & Quality, this role is primarily responsible for ensuring CSMART is provided with high quality Finance management.

As Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Manage Finance Department
- Manage and supervise the Finance Team – organize people and resources towards the effective and efficient pursuit of team objectives including but not limited to work allocation, (cross)training, problem resolution, ensuring that the department does not generate overtime unless previously authorized to do so, and oversee vacation planning;
- Create an environment that proactively supports ‘Culture Essentials’ in which success will be measured on achieving goals while displaying behavior that is reflective of the Culture Essentials. Additionally, set similar expectations for team members;
- Conduct performance management cycle for team and deliver input regarding potential promotions for team members;
- Develop/implement/update Finance Strategy and translate into Finance Policies and procedures;
- Develop/review/update Finance procedures, work instructions, and optimize where possible, ensure continuous up to date procedures and work instructions and align procedures where required with and between other departments;
- Ensure finance activities are done in accordance with CSMART and corporate procedures;
- Ensure that all internal stakeholders stay well informed regarding the new and/or updated Finance information;
- Act as CSMART point of contact for corporate Finance, participate in corporate meetings or liaise with corporate colleagues as required;
- Fulfil other Finance duties with team as assigned by Director Business & Quality.
Manage Finance procedures
- Coordinate/prepareFinancial Planning & Management including but not limited CSMART business plan (OPEX incl remuneration / CAPEX) including re-forecasting, quarterly accruals, monthly/quarterly reports, liaising with FP&A, long-term planning, and Management advice;
- Compare to Plan and Policy, analyze / report and approve on payroll, expense reports, credit card spending, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, vendor/supplier maintenance and VAT filing;
- Oversee en review VAT preparation and filing for fiscal unity and liaise with team / Loyens & Loeff where appropriate;
- Responsible for contact with Dutch Tax Authorities with regards to agreements / questions etc;
- Prepare yearly CIT return, including but not limited to the preparation of the financials / reports in cooperation with global FP&A and Tax and liaison with Loyens & Loeff and associated filing/distributing of reports, meeting agenda/minutes;
- Provide expert financial/fiscal advice and/or challenge function to CSMART Management including Dutch Law related to international operations within the Netherlands as well as Carnival Corporation / ABG Financial Policies and Procedures.
Project Management
- Lead on Finance related projects and associated change management or assist in Director Business & Quality in broader business projects;
- Drive change management (including policies) in Finance team and liaise/update management where required;
- Responsible for maintenance and further development/usage of payroll system NMBRS with data from myHR Portal;
- With Director Business & Quality, review contracts for approval before signing and forecasting financial impact while taking into account Carnival Corporation & Plc policies and review cost-saving opportunities where applicable;
Administration & Reporting
- Manage/attend meetings such as, but not limited to: departmental meetings, Finance team meetings, 1-1 meetings, Director 1-1 meetings, corporate / workgroup meetings (e.g. Compensation & Benefits), management meetings and other meetings upon request;
- Oversee monthly completion/readiness for month-end closure, payroll, VAT, CIT etc;
- Ensure quarterly check/samples of proper documenting and deletion of files according to policy;
- Review team reports prior to submission to Management;
- Prepare monthly management reports and reports for FP&A;
- Work with own team and analytics team to create / deliver / develop reports where required to support business and management insights;
- Ensure the department is prepared for internal/external audits;
Professional Development
- Keep abreast with developments in Finance best practices and procedures;
- Keep abreast with evolving Finance & HR support needs of Carnival Corporation & Plc and participate in work groups where required;
Requirements & Experience
Experience / Years of experience
- Previous experience as a controller, Finance Manager or FP&A role;
- Previous experience in cruise industry and/or L&D environment is beneficial
Education / Qualifications / Licenses:
- HBO+ accounting level or higher
- Desired business management or finance education
