GBI is now seeking a motivated and skilled TCF Middle Office Specialist to join its TCF Middle Office team in Amsterdam. The TCF Mid Office Specialist will report to the Director of TCF Middle Office. The role covers a range of functions and specific tasks, however typical activities include:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The TCF Middle Office Specialist is responsible for the execution of the daily work-flow of below tasks;
- Perform activities like administration and control of collateral related to transactional financing for commodity customers.
- Inputting of utilizations and follow-up with relevant departments (Trade Finance operations, Credit Operations, Front Offices, Credit Allocation, Compliance, Payments etc.) in the approval chain in order to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Follow up of Cargo Position.
- From the beginning of financing following all the stages (pre-payment, warehouse, shipment, receivable etc.) and shifting the risk and loan type accordingly.
- Collateral Documentation, follow up of transactional documents, deferral list etc.
- Checking all documentation is in place prior to any new financing in line with facility terms.
- Checking Credit Utilization Conditions for each transaction to be in line with pre-approved utilization conditions.
- Monitoring and reconciliation of the daily position of the required collaterals.
- Build and maintain key relationships with counterparties, inspection companies, ports and warehouses etc.
- Maintain ongoing market knowledge regarding regulation changes across Trade finance.
- Collaborate proactively with colleagues and inform them about status of cases and identify and flag issues.
- You contribute to a positive working environment and give and request feedback to uphold a positive collaboration.
- Follow the market conditions, business related legal and technical changes.
Who are we looking for?
Education and Knowledge
- Bachelor / University degree.
- Preferably working knowledge of various trade facilities including Letters of Credit, Standby LC’s, Guarantees, Trade Finance, Commodity Finance, Borrowing base, TPA hedge operations etc.
- At least 1-3 years working experience in a similar role, i.e., Trade Finance middle or back office, Operations, Commodity Finance transaction management, Credit Risk.
- Understanding of the regulatory frameworks, credit and compliance requirements.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Dutch or other language is an asset.
