At UltiMaker R&D, we are constantly working on developing new 3D print technologies and products. An important topic is helping the user convert a digital 3D model into the best possible printed object. The user has to make a lot of choices and can make many mistakes in that process. For instance, which material and layer height to choose? Is the model intended as a functional part or just a visual prototype? How should the model be oriented during printing? A user can forget to turn on support structures for overhanging parts or tries to print features that are too small. To (automatically) guide the user in making these decisions we need to have knowledge of the 3D
model and the features within it.
Responsibilities:

These tags and characterizations will eventually be used to automatically set optimal Cura settings or make suggestions to the user. Ultimately this will allow the user to print first time right.
- Master student in computer science, gaming, physics, math or equivalent;
- Experience with programming python and artificial networks;
- Ability to communicate in a multidisciplinary team and with people from different backgrounds;
- Team player attitude;
