The Service Director Meat is an international role, responsible for setting the strategic direction as well as operational accountability for the service department of our Meat Industry. In this role you are first and fore most responsible for the global industry service performance. You drive service development around Meat specific solutions with special focus on customer value, reliability, yield, throughput, uptime and other value adding factors for the customer operations. “Servitization” is the key driver in service development to raise capabilities to offer and deliver more valuable services to the customers (from reactive to proactive).
As our Service Director, you will be responsible for managing a Service department of 180 FTE, with homebase in Lichtenvoorde (NL) and including our Service Teams in Guapore (Brazil) and Roskilde (Denmark). The disciplines managed by the managers in your team are Field Service, (remote) Technical Support, Commercial Service, Installation & Commissioning, Program Management & Service Projects.
The role requires very close cooperation with Regional Service Managers to ensure optimal service levels and performance on their key markets. You work also closely with the Corporate Director of Service Excellence to develop the company service strategy.
Main Tasks:
- Business and operationally oriented service leader which drives after sales service business potential for our Meat industry
- Sets the strategic agenda and operational targets for after sales service for the Meat industry on a global level and is exclusively responsible for the global industry service performance, across all regions
- Works closely with the regional service managers to develop and execute the tactical plans for the industry on regional level to ensure optimal capabilities for high service and spare parts delivery performance
- Works with Corporate Director of Service Excellence in developing strategic and improvement plans for his/her industry in line with global strategy and the global business objectives as set by Executive Team
- Enables and manages operational excellence for his/her industry on a global level with special attention to field service, technical support, employee capabilities and spare parts
- Identifies growth potential and relevant market actions for after sales service solutions, mainly spare parts and service contracts on global level for his/her industry
- Works closely with Technical Service Director to develop capabilities and strategic plans for cross industry applications within his/her industry
- Develops highly efficient, motivated and skilled service workforce to meet demand for service and maintenance needs for the industry solutions on a global level
- Develops the industry service organization, towards customer demands and sets optimal resource footprint on regional and global level
- Develops and aligns global industry market execution plan to actively promote the after sales service and maintenance offerings to deliver expected service levels for the industry solutions.
- Is responsible for service and maintenance engineering activities to secure highest serviceability and maintenance capabilities of the industry solutions (service offering, spare parts availability, pricing, documentation, installed base information, etc.) in line with globally aligned structures, processes and systems.
- Operates global help desk for customers and internal service units
- Drives change and organizational learning for the industry
- Analyzes service performance and capabilities to identify gaps and best practices e.g. productivity, quality of service, efficiency and effectiveness of people, processes and technology
- Is responsible for management of key strategic/tactical change projects for the industry
About you:
In order to be successful in this exciting and senior position, you need to recognize yourself in the following profile:
- Bachelor or Master degree level or matching experience
- Strategic thinker, able to crystallize concepts into real strategy.
- Structured and experienced in change management
- Strong in stakeholdermanagement and process disciplined
- Management and motivation of people, gaining commitment from both internal and external colleagues.
- Experience with Digitalization, Preventive Maintenance, Smart Asset Management and Connectivity is a plus
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to execute agreed tasks & deadlines against performance criteria (KPI).
- Entrepreneurial drive and a competitive edge.
- Commercially savvy.
- Oral and written communication skills in English. Dutch preferred
- Ability and willingness to commute to our Lichtenvoorde office, three days a week
- Willing to travel approximately 50% of your time (both national and international)
